Review:

This is the first release by DR on Focused Silence. DR (real name Dominic Razlaff).

Obviously, it is a musique concrète album – but it is based on a field recording of DR’s native Saxony. To be specific, it a recording captured on Neue Straße, Braunschweig. DR (aka Dominic Razlaff), was born in 1982 and he is predominantly an ambient musician. He has had an interest in making music since 2007. In 2009 he bought his first synthesizer (Novation Xio), that changed the game.

Nowadays, DR was more interested in sound design and it has moved more and more towards experimental ambient music. Currently, he produces most of his tracks with classic subtractive synthesis and records it on a Fostex X-15, later it is edited with some granular synthesis tools and then field recordings are added. DR loves to use synthesizers, field recordings, tape loops & granular synthesis to create melancholic, immersive soundscapes.
