Hi folks – Hope all is well? It is well here.
The sun is shining and Mrs. Backhouse dragged me around Valley Gardens, Harrogate – we were out looking at the Japanese and New Zealand Gardens. Very nice. We then stopped off for a coffee and, most importantly, snacks. Very tasty. Very filling.
There are still a few CDs of Total E.T.’s “A.L.I.E.N.” left going – order them before you regret missing out. We are also gearing up for a massive release on 25th May 2018. Tantric Doctors returns with an amazing album called “Karesansui”. Billed as a free-jazz musician’s take on the formality of Japanese Rock Gardens, it blends acoustic reed instruments with electronic wizardry. More on that to come. You can read the press statement for “Karesansui” on my site HERE
. As per norm, the artwork for the release was done by the multi-talented Ed Lawrenson. You can buy a print of the album cover HERE
and CD pre-orders of the album are being taken HERE
The Parish News trundles in to a new week. We have reached the Eighty-Seventh Edition. Quite something. If you want to have a look at the whole site, the address is www.theparishnews.com
– however, if you want to skip the main course and go straight to the pudding then click HERE
to be forward to the most recent show’s page. There are links on the episode’s page to all of the albums from which the songs I played were lifted from.
Your homework – if you want to pass the test at the end of semester – is to:
- Check out Karesansui HERE.
- Listen to The Parish News HERE.
Also, on the back of this Newsletter, I’d like to tell you about a release I have put out. Off label, but on point. “Woodland Scene: Dawn Chorus
” is an hour long recording of the dawn chorus as it manifested somewhere near where my parents live. You can listen to it before committing to purchasing it and CDs are limited to an edition of Fifty (50) – this means they could achieve cult status if I ever become famous.
Once again, thanks.
